HELINET Consortlum

Main Objective

HELINET (HEalth Library NETwork) is the consortium networking all the institutional libraries affiliated with RGUHS, across all faculties, including medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, homeopathy, Ayurveda, and other AYUSH disciplines, as well as allied sciences. The HELINET Consortium acquires all the relevant e-books, e-journals, multimedia interactive learning materials, point-of-care tools, drug databases, question banks, and consolidates all dissertations/theses. HELINET provides a user ID and password to each faculty member, student, and librarian to access all the e-resources subscribed to by the consortium. Access to e-resources is provided using remote access technology, allowing users to access materials from anywhere, anytime, and on any device (laptop, smartphone, etc.) connected to the internet, not necessarily only through the LAN of the institutional campus.

Objectives

• To provide access to high-quality and scholarly electronic resources such as eBooks, e-journals, multimedia interactive learning materials, question banks, self-test materials, point-of-care tools, and drug information.
• To provide a suitable technology platform for easy and immediate remote access.
• To impart training to users, librarians, research scholars, and faculty members of all affiliated institutions of RGUHS.
• To promote inter-library cooperation among the participating institutions of the consortium.
• To evaluate and review the subscribed resources based on usage every year.
• To identify and update new tools, technology, and content that are useful to students, faculty, and researchers in the field of Health Sciences.
