Curriculum Development Cell

The Curriculum Development Cell (CDC) of a Health University is a vital department responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the academic curriculum for all the courses offered by the University. It functions as the backbone for maintaining high standards and adherence to the regulations stipulated by the National apex bodies, such as NMC, DCI, NCISM, INC, UGC, NCAHP, etc.


Purpose and Role:

The primary role of the CDC is to oversee the systematic formulation and revision of the curriculum to keep it relevant to evolving healthcare needs, educational standards, and societal expectations. It ensures that the curriculum prepares students for effective professional practice and research in health sciences. The CDC facilitates the translation of institutional goals and the vision of providing quality education into concrete academic programs and course structures, which will eventually fulfil the vision and mission of the university.


Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing curriculum frameworks, course schemes, and syllabi for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, super-specialty, fellowship & Certificate courses and the documentation of the same. Evaluation of the curriculum developed and upgradation accordingly with the help of the subject experts.
  • Incorporating advances in medical and health sciences, technology, and interdisciplinary approaches wherever relevant in the curriculum.
  • Facilitating the experts like Board of Study Members of the University to develop the curriculum.
  • Synopsis submission by the students and sending the review reports of the same to the Institutions/students.
  • Post Graduate Guide Recognition, and their Designation change or Institution Change or the guide change for the student, etc.
  • Initiation of new courses through the New Course Committee.
  • Facilitating the Board of Study meetings for all UG, PG, Super-specialty courses across different faculties.
